Summary
TheXenoblade Chroniclesfranchise has its three mainline entries already on Nintendo Switch, but the outlier of the franchise has not been ported to the system yet. However, if a leak is to be believed, it might not only be coming, but it could be announced within the next day or so. At the very least, it may be appearing at the next Nintendo Direct.
The leak in question comes fromYoleocomicsDCon X (formerly Twitter), which, after being translated, states thatXenoblade Chronicles Xcould be announced for Nintendo Switch on June 11. This would complete the series on the system while also potentially updating the title on the console.

As sources are sometimes hit-and-miss when it comes to leaks, the tweet also noted that the recentMetal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eatertrailer that was shown at the recent Xbox Showcase was predicted by this same leaker. Thus, they have at least a little credibility.

The Missing Link That Is Xenoblade Chronicles X Could Be Re-Released Soon
The Wii U Title Was Both Familiar And Different Than Its Counterparts
The originalXenoblade Chronicles Xtitlewas released on the Wii U in 2015and is still considered by critics to beone of the console’s best titles. However, unlike the mainline trilogy, the story does not connect to the other games. All three of those games feature worlds created due to an overarching event, and the games are connected and changed through that event. However, the Wii U title featured an original storyline about a colony of humans trying to survive in a seemingly uninhabited world.

Upon the planet Mira, people create a unique avatar and are introduced to the colony of New Los Angeles. It’s there that a familiar yet unique set of quests and gameplay occur. People have access to not only the main campaign but numerous other quests that will help them build up the colony, increase their bonds with other characters, and explore the many continents of the world, all of which give EXP to the players.A key differenceXenoblade Chronicles Xhad in its gameplaywas being able to pilot a mech unit after completing certain quests.
Although it released on the doomed Wii U,Xenoblade Chronicles Xreceived critical acclaim and remains a beloved entry in the series. Bringing the game to the Nintendo Switch would make a lot of sense, and it’s somewhat surprising that it hasn’t happened before. As of this writing, it’s one of the few Wii U exclusives to not appear on the Switch in some capacity. And with previous entries, like the firstXenoblade Chronicleson Wii, appearing on the Switch now, it draws even more attention to the fact thatXCXis missing.

Xenoblade Chronicles X On Nintendo Switch May Still Be Happening
June’s Nintento Direct Is Coming Soon
This far into June 11, it’s becoming increasingly unlikely that this leak is true. However, there’s always a chance the date is simply wrong. ANintendo Direct is happening in June, with an exact date still unannounced. Because of this, it’s still entirely possible theXCXwill get a reveal in the upcoming days and weeks. Still, it’s best take this with a grain of salt.
Presumably, the missing piece in theXenoblade Chroniclessaga will be announced during the upcoming Nintendo Direct, which rumors say is imminent. Should that happen, it would be a big deal for the franchise and could give the game a second chance at life. The series grew exponentiallyafter its arrival on Nintendo Switch, includingXenoblade Chronicles 3and its Game of the Year nominations and numerous accolades. It’s only fitting that before Nintendo moves onto its next platform, it will make this beloved RPG series whole on its current system.
Currently,Xenoblade Chronicles Xis the onlyXenobladegame that hasn’t appeared on the Nintendo Switch, and it’s also one of the few Wii U exclusives that hasn’t been ported to the newer console. With the release of the as-yet-unnamed Switch 2 presumably targeting a 2025 release date, the window on bringing one of the best Wii U games to the Switch is closing. Although it looks as if June 11 will pass without an officialXCXreveal, there is still a bit of hope that it will appear at the upcoming Nintendo Direct.
