Wicked: For Good trailer gives away a huge spoiler about Boq
Anyone else already crying atElphabaand Glinda parting ways in theWicked: For Goodtrailer? In between the tears, you might have noticed one huge spoiler for Boq if you’ve seen the musical.
There’s never been a better time to been a musical theater stan.Wicked Part 1took the world by storm, and luckily for us, the final instalment was filmed at exactly the same time.
Still, we’ve got to wait until November to see the full thing. If you’ve seen the musical, you’ll know what’s to come, even if director Jon M. Chu decides to take a few creative liberties.
If you haven’t… well, the Wicked: For Good trailer might feel a little too revealing. If you don’t want to know how it gave away a massive spoiler for Boq, look away now.

Okay, we know we’ve linked it below. But if you haven’t seen the original Broadway musical, you might be unaware you’re about to walk into a huge Part 2 spoiler with the Wicked: For Good trailer.
In one shot, you can see our currently faceless Dorothy being led down the yellow brick road by Nessarose, Boq, and an unknown munchkin. If you think this looks weirdly similar to the original Wizard of Oz group, you’d be right.
Nessarose is somewhat of a red herring here, becoming her sister’s opposite as the Wicked Witch of the East in Munchkinland. You might have also noticed she’s walking in the trailer… and that’s a whole separate spoiler.
But for now, let’s focus on Boq. He’s rightfully taking up a place next to Dorothy, because he’s set to become the Tin Man in Wicked: For Good. Basically, Jon M. Chu has dangled a massive spoiler in front of our very eyes.

In short, it all comes out that Boq only showed interest in Nessarose in order to get closer to Glinda, which we saw set up in Part 1. In response, Nessarose uses Elphaba’s spell book to cause his heart to shrink and disappear. Elphaba manages to save Boq’s life, but it turns him into the Tin Man in the process.
And that’s only the tip of the iceberg!Fiyero’s fatewas widely discussed shortly after the release of Part 1, with the tornado that brings Dorothy to Oz being whipped up in the Wicked: For Good trailer by one Madame Morrible.
Don’t worry, though – there’s still plenty of fresh takes to come. We’ve got two original songs added into thenew movie, with the trailer teasing extra details added into what we already know (Glinda in ‘Wonderful,’ anyone?).
