TikTok star Alysha Burney dies on 25th birthday trip
Popular comedy TikToker and YouTuber Alysha Burney died from an asthma attack during a trip to celebrate her 25th birthday in Mexico, and fans are paying their respects online.
She had an even greater presence onTikTok, where she’d garnered over2.5 million followerswho regularly tuned in to see her short comedic clips and lifestyle videos, which often racked up millions of views each.
To celebrate her 25th birthday in early March, Burney and her friends took a trip to Cabo San Lucas in Mexico — but on March 2, she was found dead.
As reported byThe Independent, Burney died in her sleep that night, with her brother confirming that she’d died from an asthma attack.
Her brother also took aim at misinformation being spread about her death, hitting back at rumors that she’d died from other causes.
“There’s a spread of misinformation online, stating different things based on speculation,” he said. “These sources lack credibility and should not be believed. My sister did not engage in environments that would lead to such situations.
“She does not do drugs. She was a self-loving and happy individual who cherished her life and was looking forward to the upcoming year’s plans. She was in Mexico to celebrate her birthday. She was a very classy young woman.”

Fans are sending their good thoughts to Burney’s family and sharing their love for the YouTuber’s legacy in the comments, with one writing: “You always had us smiling at all of your videos, you mean so much to all of us. We will always love and never forget you.”
“I’m crying writing this,” another wrote. “You got me through depression girl. I was DOWN and I found you and you brought me back. You touched so many lives. We love you angel, fly high.”
