The Way Home showrunners rule out 2 unhinged theories about Season 4
Not many of ourSeason 3 finale predictionsactually came true. But even now, theories have been dismissed by the show’s creators ahead of The Way Home Season 4.
It’s been four days sinceThe Way Home Season 3came to a close, and I’m still reeling. Elliot was revealed as the mystery baby, Colton knew everything about his family before he died, and Sam isn’t really Sam at all. Who saw that coming?

We’re all scrambling to figure out how Season 4 will play out, even though it won’t be on screens for at least another 10 months. There are at least fiveburning questionsthat need to be answered, and that’s if you’re not including smaller issues you couldtechnicallygloss over.
Since Season 3 started, two popular fan theories have been gaining traction online, butThe Way Homeshowrunners have now confirmed we won’t be seeing either of them in Season 4… because they’re not true.

Two Del and Jacob theories won’t come true in The Way Home Season 4
Showrunners Alexandra Clarker and Heather Conkie have now debunked two massive fan theories ahead of Season 4:Del having a secret baby and young Jacob time-traveling before going missing.
During the first four episodes of Season 3, fans saw how Del came to Port Haven under Evelyn’s wing, falling in love with Colton the first time she meets him. By the time we get to Episode 4, Colton and Del are officially together, but Del constantly feels sick. This led fans to think it was morning sickness, which would mean Del was pregnant long beforeJacoband Kat came along.

Secret Hallmark episode ‘confirms’ three major theories for The Way Home Season 4
The Way Home Season 3 Episode 9 just debunked 3 big theories about Colton

The Way Home Season 4 could include a heartbreaking new timeline we’ve never seen before
But this isn’t actually the case. According to Clarke, thethought“never even a thought that entered our minds” until fans caught wind of the idea online. “Sorry about that!”

“I couldn’t believe that. That was not intended,” Conkie added.
Then there’s what happened with young Jacob. In the Season 3 finale, Colton remembers how the pond never worked for his son, getting mad when Jacob once swam in the pond on a camping trip. The young boy tells his dad it’s okay because he’s “done it before,” hinting he might have time traveled in the years prior.
Again, it’s a dead end. “I know, in the mix and the edit, even, I thought, ‘Oh, people are going to jump on that one.’ But I think it’s pretty safe to say that he’s just saying, ‘I’ve swum in here before. So I know what I’m doing,’” Conkie confirmed. “He’s been in there a few times, and nothing ever happens.”
Clarke agrees the wording is intentionally “straightforward,” adding “Like, that was part of the reason for why Colton never thought Jacob could have disappeared into the pond was that he’d caught him swimming in there before.”
Just because two theories are struck down doesn’t mean others don’t hold merit. We think we know whereJacob disappearedto, Elliot’s mom is clearly time-traveling with a Landry, andCasey could easily be Jacob’s kid.
