In a new TikTok fromCrovetti, the actor explains what it is like to watchThe Boysseason 4 sitting next to his parents. The video starts with Crovetti standing in his living room, with the caption “Me watching the new episodes of The Boys with my family.” It then cuts to a shot of Crovetti with a red filter, with text reading “The sauna scene in episode 2.”
Any semblance of calm has vanished when Crovetti cuts to the close-up. Instead of giving a light nod to his family members,Crovetti’s face looks horrified. The episode 2 scene in question occurs with a character named Splinter, who can create multiple versions of himself. Though Splinter is introduced in a perfectly benign way, the character is later seen in a human centipede-esque situation with his duplicates.

Ryan Is Torn Between Homelander & Butcher
In typical fashion forThe Boys, the Splinter sauna scene is far from the only obscenity in season 4 so far. Episode 4 in particular hadexamples of gratuitous violence, as Homelander wreaked havoc on his childhood lab. The season also contains copious nudity, including late in the Splinter episode, whereinThe Boysteam must fight a group of naked clones to defeat Splinter.
Aside from the nudityand other graphic content in the initial episodes,The Boysseason 4 sees Ryanin a unique position. The character has a lot more autonomy than in previous seasons, wherein he was relegated more to the background. As Ryan grows, so too does Homelander’s desire to make his superpowered son follow in his footsteps.Unable to control his powers correctly, Ryan fumbles in doing this, even accidentally killing a man in a staged fight early in the season.
Ryan’s relationship with Billy Butcher is also fascinating when it comes to season 4. In fulfillment of Becca’s dying wish, Butcher, who is also now dying, feels the impetus to protect Ryan and rid him of Homelander’s clutches. Corrupted by the pro-Seven propaganda being fed to him by his biological father, however, it seems that Ryan is more interested in following Homelander. It will be fascinating to see where Ryan lands asThe Boysseason 4continues its run.
