FX on Hulu’s smash-hit culinary dramedyThe Bearhas served up three amazing seasons thus far, and the network has already picked the series up for season 4. Created by Christopher Storer,The Bearconcerns troubled chef Carmy (Jeremy Allen White), as he leaves the high-pressure world of upscale dining to take over the pressure cooker that is his family’s failing sandwich shop in Chicago. Noted for its hyperrealistic depiction of kitchen work,The Bearhas grown increasingly suspenseful with each passing season without sacrificing any of the brilliant characters that make the show so beloved.

Naturally,The Bearhas been a critical darling across all three seasons thus far, raking in a slew of major awards including Emmys and Golden Globes. Critical reactions to season 3 have been somewhat lackluster compared to the previous two, but the response is still overwhelmingly positive. Considerably less intense than its predecessor, the ending ofThe Bearseason 3leaves a lot on the table and employs a cliffhanger ending not seen in previous seasons. Fortunately for fans who are eagerly awaiting their next course ofThe Bear, FX on Hulu has already green-lit a fourth season.

Will Carmy & Syd Return For Season 4?

Even thoughThe Bearis known for its heart-pounding suspense and shocking twists and turns, the cast of the FX on Hulu dramedy has remained pretty consistent across all three seasonsthus far. Considering the ending of season 3, it is almost a necessity that many if not all the stars return to reprise their roles, and no one was left in a very stable place. With that in mind, fans can expect to see Jeremy Allen White reprise his roleas the troubled-but-brilliant chef Carmen “Carmy” Berzatto.

Though her place in “The Bear” is far from certain,Ayo Edebiri’s Sydney is also a must-have for season 4,as is Carmy’s “cousin”, Richard “Richie” Jerimovich, played by Ebon Moss-Bachrach. The rest of the kitchen staff is crucial as well, and they have each blossomed into fascinating characters across the three seasons with their own fascinating arcs that tie back to the fate of the restaurant.Major cameos like Olivia Colman are less certain, but the series has excelled at bringing in huge guest stars thus far.

Will Sydney Leave “The Bear”?

Because the dramedy is known for its gut-wrenching tension, the finale ofThe Bearseason 3 was anything but conclusive. Sydney was left to grapple with her emotions as she must decide whether to take an offer that would improve her career, or stay in the place where she has found a family. Meanwhile, the outcome of the review is still unknown, and"The Bear” risks losing its principal financer if Uncle Jimmy pulls his cash. Under all that is the complicated web of emotional entanglements, as nearly every potential outcome will have crucial consequences inThe Bearseason 4 and beyond.

Even if things work out, and the review is a positive one, that doesn’t mean the stress will end. AsThe Bearhas shown time and again, running a successful restaurant is nearly impossible, andthe pressure-cooker of Carmy’s life might not be able to handle the rigors of business ownership. Add on top of that the possibility of Sydney’s departure, and Carmy’s dream may be a hollow victory without the one person who has truly stuck by his side through thick and thin.
