Here’s everything you need to follow along with Star Wars: The Acolyte, from references and trivia to main takeaways from each new episode.
The Stranger’s Name Is Vastly Different From Any Other Sith
Could This Mean Qimir Really Isn’t A Sith Lord?
The cortosis helmet isn’t the only thing that makes Qimir’s dark side identity unique. The official reveal of his name as “The Stranger” is different from anything seen previously with the Sith inStar Wars, especially those of Darth Bane’s lineage. There are a few possibilities for why this is, with the first pointing towards him being a true Sith. If The Stranger is technically still the apprentice and not the master, then it very well could be thathe has not yet earned his “Darth” title from his master- which could be why he’s seeking to overthrow his master.
What seems more likely, especially given the Jedi Order’s failure to recognize the Sith’s return by the events ofStar Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace, is thatQimir is not a true Sith, but is instead a dark side user who has come across Sith teachings. One of the most popular theories is that The Stranger is one of the firstKnights of Ren, if not Ren himself. This is becauseThe Acolyte’s score played Kylo Ren’s iconic motif at the end of the episode, and The Stranger’s choice of wardrobe aligns closely with Ren’s.

Regardless of who Qimir’s identity as The Stranger truly turns out to be, Jacinto’s The Stranger has already risen quickly in the ranks among theStar Warsfandom’s favorite foes, thanks to a haunting reveal and shocking body count in his first on-screen duel. The master’s tool has not only taken the Jedi by surprise but also awed viewers with its deadly usage. As such, many viewers are eager to displayThe Acolyte’s deadly Stranger’s cortosis helmet alongside Hasbro’s more beskar-oriented offerings.
