Pokemon Go Wild Area: Global and Fukuoka event details
Are you ready to go wild? Pokemon Go Wild Area is coming, and it promises to be one of the most exciting events yet for both the Global version and the in-person event in Fukuoka.
There’s a lot to look forward to in theMax Out season, with a variety of excitingCommunity Days, new Pokemon, and a whole heap of event bonuses still to come. One of this season’s most exciting events is Pokemon Go Wild Area, which is lining up to be one of the best we’ve seen yet.
Here’s everything you need to know about the Pokemon Go Wild Area event, including key dates, information on tickets, and all of the new content being added.
Global & Fukuoka event dates
These are the event dates for both the Global and Fukoka versions of the Pokemon Go Wild Area event, asconfirmed by Niantic:
Ticket prices
You can purchase Global Tickets for Pokemon Go Wild Area for$11.99 USDor your regional equivalent. These can be brought from thePokemon Go Web Storeand will remain available for purchase until the Global event begins on August 20, 2025.
Unlike the Global event, ticket sales for the in-person event in Fukuoka aren’t available yet. We’ll keep you updated when they go live, including details on how much they’ll cost and how long you’ll have to buy them.
Regardless of which version you buy, there will be two exclusive paths to choose between that will unlock branching Special Research: Electric Path and Poison Path. Which of these you pick will dictate what rewards will be available from the research.

Toxtricity & Toxel debut
Both Toxtricity and Toxel will be making their debut in the Pokemon Go Wild Area event.Toxtricity will be available fromMax Battles,andToxel will be hatched from 10 km Eggsduring the event, with both having Shiny forms that you may obtain.
The Electric/Poison-type Pokemon first appeared in Pokemon Sword & Shield and is notable for having two different forms: Amped Form and Low Key Form. In the mainline games, Toxtricity’s form is decided by its nature, with this dictating what moves it learns. Niantic has yet to share details on how this will work in Pokemon Go, but it’s likely the two forms will have different attacks.
Pokemon Go Wild Area will feature a wide range of spawns that can all be shiny. These are split up between Electric Hour and Poison Hour, with these being habitat hours that will rotate throughout the event’s duration.

Raid encounters
Pokemon Go Wild Area will feature a variety of unique raids, including encounters for rare Pokemon like Primal Forme Dialga and Palkia. These raids are also where you can encounter Toxtricity, giving you a chance to capture the debutant and even find its Shiny form.

Mighty Pokemon
Mighty Pokemon are being added in Pokemon Go Wild Area, a new type of encounter that challenges you to overcome powerful opponents withincreased stats, that aremore likely to be XL or XXL, andcan be Shiny, but they will also bemore difficult to catch.
Here are all of the spawns that can appear as Mighty Pokemon during the event, with Saturday and Sunday each having their own offerings:
Safari Balls
Pokemon Go Wild Area will see Safari Balls come to Pokemon Go, a classic Poke Ball that also appears in the mainline games. These new Poke Balls are extremely effective andmake capturing Pokemon much easier while the event is live.
However, once Wild Area ends, all your remaining Safari Balls will expire and be removed from your Item Bag. Be sure to use them all before then to make sure you are making the most of these powerful Poke Balls!
Featured Attacks
Six different Pokemon will be available with Featured Attacks during Wild Area. These are rare moves that improve DPS in PvE and PvP, so you’ll want to catch or evolve these eligible Pokemon to make the most of the event:
New Avatar Items
Pokemon Go Wild Area will add a range of exciting cosmetics for your avatar to wear. This includes the ‘Pokémon GO Wild Area 2024 Tee’ that will be available from the in-game shop starting July 27, 2025.
