Samsung’s One UI 5 betais beginning to roll out for select Galaxy S22 owners via the Samsung Members app. Today,Samsung announced the early rolloutwould be exclusive to Germany, South Korea, and the U.S. — but it quickly pulled the announcement from its website without a replacement (likely a sign that the post went up earlier than it should have). While Samsung works on getting its timing right, folks who’ve gotten early access to One UI 5 have taken to Twitter to show off the new features....

Despite the fact that Apple completed itsacquisition of music-ID app Shazamlast year, the coolest new Shazam feature is, for now, an Android exclusive. Pop-Up for Shazam can detect songs being played on a device without having to use the microphone. Instead, it effectively digitally eavesdrops on other apps that are running and acquires the signal it needs to identify songs directly. The big benefit to this capability is that you can now leave your headphones on, while Shazam runs in the background, doing its thing....

Drone enthusiasts in Japan have been warned that if they fly their drones while drunk, they could end up in prison. The country has apparently become the first in the world to enact legislation that bans drunk droning, with offenders facing up to a year in the clink or a fine of up to 300,000 yen (about $2,800), theBBCreports. Similar legislation came into force in New Jersey in 2018 when state officialsmade it a criminal offenseto fly a drone under the influence of drink or drugs....
