Summary
A new video reveals an update about the upcoming season ofOuter Banks. The hit Netflix show, which premiered in 2020, is a teen drama that takes place on the coast of North Carolina, where locals known as Pogues frequently square off against upper-class seasonal holidaymakers called Kooks. The show has made stars of its ensemble cast, which includes Chase Stokes, Madelyn Cline, Madison Bailey, Jonathan Daviss, Rudy Pankow, Austin North, Drew Starkey, and Carlacia Grant. The aforementioned cast members are all returning for the upcomingOuter Banksseason 4, which was renewed in February 2023 before season 3 premiered.

In the video, several of the main cast members of the show are gathered to announce thatproduction has wrapped on season 4. They announce that they are “super stoked” about the new season and sign off with the promise that they will “see you so soon.”
When Will Outer Banks Season 4 Premiere?
The New Season Of The Netflix Show Still Needs To Go Through Post-Production
Although this announcement from theOuter Bankscastreveals that the show has made a major step toward season 4 being completed, the new episodesstill need to go through post-production before they actually premiere. While post-production will likely take less time than a more special effects-heavy show, Netflix series typically take longer than an average show to reach the air because the entire season, or in some cases half of the season, needs to be completed before the premiere because it all drops at once. It hasn’t been officially revealed when season 1 wrapped production. However, production on the subsequent two seasons lasted between seven and eight months. Season 1 kicked off production in May 2019 and wasn’t delayed by the March 2020 global shutdowns amid the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, so therefore it likely wrapped sometime between December 2019 and February 2020. This would place the average hiatus between a season’s production wrap and its premieresomewhere between three and five months.
If season 4lands at the earlier end of that range, it could be ready to premiere by mid to late September 2024. While October 2024 seems like a slightly more reasonable time frame, it likely won’t premiere much later than November. Production on the season has already been delayed during the Screen Actors Guild strike when actors joined writers on the picket lines in 2023 to fight for fair pay, so it seems likely that Netflix may want to prevent the long wait after theOuter Banksseason 3ending from getting even longer.
