The volatile Homelander fromThe Boysappears inMortal Kombat 1as a character with a variety of moves, combos, and deadly fatalities that show the unrestrained power of Vought’s top Supe. Homelander uses his eye lasers, super strength, and flight to be a menace at all distances from his opponent. With the right Kameo, you can become an oppressive force that others will rarely be able to stop.

Homelander is the fourth character from theKombat Pack forMortal Kombat 1, a DLC collection of new fighters that includes other guests like Peacemaker and Omni-Man. Although Omni-Man and Homelander are both similar characters, Homelander has a very different approach to combat. The Supe created by Compound V tends to stay far away from opponents or pressure them into corners where they become helpless.

The Best Kameos For Homelander

Team Up With Someone Who Compliments Flight

Thebest Kameos inMortal Kombat 1for Homelander are likelyKano, Khameleon, and Darriusdue to how each assist makes the fighter’s moves more dangerous. Kano also has an eye laser that can be combined with Homelander’s heat ray attacks to cover the battlefield in hazardous projectiles. With Kano’s rolling ball assist held down, you have plenty of time to go into Flight and start pressuring your opponent as well.

Khameleon may be the best Kameo in the game right now since she can do practically everything you want during a fight. From extending your offensive options with assists that mimic Kitana’s special moves to a returning projectile similar to Jade’s, Khameleon can always keep you at an advantage. With Homelander, you can use the Kitana assist to launch yourself into the air, making it easier to go into Flight.

Darrius can work for anyone who is experienced enough to apply mix-ups between Homelander’s low and overhead attacks. Homelander has many low-striking moves, including God Complex, that force your opponent to block while crouching. One of Darrius' assists is a devastating overhead kick that can start a combo, so ensure to combine these two moves while your opponent is in a corner to break their defense.

How To Play Homelander

Fly Around And Bully Opponents

Homelander can be an unorthodox fighter whoexcels at both long and close-rangeagainst opponentsbut struggles when at mid-range. Many of Homelander’s strikes are slower than other characters and are best used when you have your opponent already trying to defend from Kameo assists or other special moves. Homelander is a fighter who operates in extremes rather than in controlled bursts.

The best strategy to win as Homelander is to eitherstay at full screen and shoot eye lasersoruse Flight to get close and oppress enemies by mixing up attacks. Some characters you fight against can’t compete with Homelander’s eye lasers since they cover a variety of angles both from the ground and the air. Sometimes, you’ll be able to get wins by simply using eye lasers over and over until your opponent loses all their health.

When you fight someone who knows how to get around eye lasers or has the tools to deal with them, try touse combos that push enemies into a corner, where Flight becomes an extremely oppressive tool on offense. The many overhead attacks and throw moves from Diabolical Dash can force an opponent to use meter for an armored special move to escape, wasting their resources fast for little reward.

When you reach low health, don’t forget that you may unleash a Fatal Blow attack that has armor and deals a large amount of damage. If you miss this attack, it recharges after a short time during a round.

Sample Homelander Kombos

Be Ready For Aerial Strikes In Quick Succession

The Basic and Aerial Attacks from Homelander are usually used in tandem with special moves to create combos that put your opponent into vulnerable positions during a fight. With Homelander’s flight, some of his combos can be more complicated than other characters, even other guests likeOmni-Man inMortal Kombat 1. You should always try to practice some simple combos in Training Mode to help learn Homelander’s strengths.

Flight cancels can make combos difficult to perform, but those who practice enough can learn the muscle memory to pull off certain patterns consistently. As you can see in the above video by YouTube creatorahmz1404, not every combo needs Flight to be effective. Some example combos to get you started with Homelander include:

How To Do Homelander’s Fatalities

Make Sure Opponents Catch Their Next Flight

Whenever you win a match, you can enter a complex input to perform one of the many finishing movefatalities inMortal Kombat 1. These over-the-top, gory, and brutal moves will see Homelander put enemy characters to a permanent end, at least until a rematch. By leveling up Homelander, you can unlock one of his two character-specific fatalities, but you can still perform both moves as long as you know the input.

Back, Forward, Back, Y

Back, Forward, Back, X

While you may have to win a few games by preventing your opponent from getting a chance to fight back, you should never apologize for overwhelming success. Use these fatalities as an exclamation point when declaring victory during a fight. Once you master the combos and moves of Homelander inMortal Kombat 1, you should see these fatalities often as you continue to defeat your rivals.
