Love Is Blind production sued for allegedly filming sexual assault in Season 5

A contestant from Season 5 is now suing the production company behind Netflix’s Love Is Blind in relation to a sexual assault claim.

When it comes to Love Is Blind, there isn’t a moment when the popular dating show is not making headlines.

Sometimes, it’s for good reason like the heartwarming love stories of couples who found success when dating in the pods, like Lauren and Cameron from Season 1.

In other cases, the contestants are lashing out at the production company behind the series, Kinetic Content, and accusing them of wrongdoing.

Some of the claims over the years have included a lack of food provided for contestants andno mental health servicesgiven throughout filming.

Now, Season 5 has unfortunately brought on another accusation against the crew. This time it centers around sexual assault.

Is there a lawsuit against Love Is Blind’s Season 5 production?

On October 6,Deadlinereported that Season 5 contestant Tran Dang is suing Kinetic Content for not protecting her during an incident between herself and her pod-partner Thomas Smith.

The reality TV star is alleging that not only did Thomas sexually assault her, but that the entire incident was recorded by production.

“The filing from Houston law firm Wallace & Allen LLP details that ‘due to Delirium TV and Kinetic Content’s 24-hour surveillance of Plaintiff and Defendant Smith, most if not all of these traumatic acts were filmed by the production crew and within their knowledge’” shared the outlet.

Deadline did reveal that Kinetic’s Chris Coelen has responded to the accusations and denies any wrongdoing on their part.

He stated that, “Their journey is not scripted, nor is it filmed around the clock. We have no knowledge or control over what occurs in private living spaces when not filming, and participants may choose to end their journey at any time.”
