Apple will swap out the display on some iPhone 11 handsets for free after it acknowledged that a “small percentage” of the devices are failing to respond to touch.

The iPhone 11 devices eligible for a free screen replacement were manufactured between November 2019 and May 2020.

“Apple has determined that a small percentage of iPhone 11 displays may stop responding to touch due to an issue with the display module,” the tech giantsaid in a recent messageposted on its website.

Getting your free screen replacement

If your iPhone 11 is due a free screen replacement, you have three options for getting the job done.

First, you’re able to visit an Apple Authorized Service Provider, details of which can be found onApple’s support site.

Second, you canmake an appointmentto visit an Apple Store. Take note — due to the coronavirus pandemic, some Apple Stores won’t let you even enter unless you have an appointment, so ensure you have that all-important appointment before you show up.

And third, if the above two options are a nonstarter for you, you can contact Apple Support to arrangemailing it into an Apple Repair Center.

The company also said that if you believe your iPhone 11 was affected by this particular issue and you forked out to get it repaired, then you should contact Apple to discuss the possibility of getting a refund.
