Summary
Star Wars: The Acolyte,Star Wars’newest Disney+ TV show, has released its first six episodes, and these planets from the show are all the new additions to theStar Warsgalaxy.The Acolytemay be the most recent release inthe chronology ofStar Warsmovies and TV shows, but it’s also the furthest back intheStar Warstimelineof anyStar Warsshow or movie thus far. Set 100 years beforeStar Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace,The Acolytetakes place duringthe High Republic Era, the golden age of the Jedi and the Republic.
This period not only saw the Jedi more present across the galaxy than they were in the prequel trilogy but also was marked by exploration and an interest in expanding knowledge. Because of that,The Acolytehas the potential to introduce innumerable brand-new worlds, and the first five episodes have begun to do exactly that. These are all the new planets that have been introduced in the show so far.

5Ueda
Ueda Is The First Planet Shown In The Acolyte
Ueda is the green, lush planet shown in the very first scene ofThe Acolyte. It’s clear that this planet is one of many where the Jedi have a presence during this era, as, whenAmandla Stenberg’s Maeis seeking Master Indara, she asks a bystander, “Where’s your Jedi?“The language of her question suggests that Indara was one of several Jedi who were stationed on Ueda.
It is then that Mae enters a cantina, where the epic battle between Mae and Master Indara, showcased in several trailers forThe Acolyte, takes place. Sadly, Indara dies soon after, as Mae plays on her weaknesses by threatening the person working behind the bar in the cantina. However, it’s also clear that Ueda has strong connections to the Jedi and the Republic, as that same cantina worker quickly helps to identify Mae (who everyone initially mistakes for Osha).
Ueda may not be shown again inThe Acolytebecause Mae finished her business on the planet, but it was nevertheless an important inclusion. During the High Republic Era, it was standard practice for Jedi to be stationed on different planets as keepers of the peace.This introduction on Ueda immediately set the tone for the show and reinforced thatThe Acolytewill depict that role the Jedi played.
4Brendok
Mae And Osha’s Home Planet Burned Along With Their Family
Although Mae and Osha’s home planet of Brendok was only briefly shown in the two-episode premiere ofThe Acolyte, episode 3 of the show, titled “Destiny,” revealed much more about both the planet and the twins' origins. In the premiere, Osha had Force visions of trees on Brendok burning around her. This seemed to represent the event both she and Master Sol both described as Mae setting fire to the twins' home, killing their entire family in the process.
In addition to suggesting that there may be more to this tragic story, “Destiny” revealed many more features of Brendok and its link to Mae and Osha. For one,the episode revealed that Mae and Osha come fromthe Witches of Brendok, a coven of Force-sensitive witches who align with neither the light nor the dark side of the Force. The episode also confirmed that the witches had been exiled to Brendok after they grew to be perceived as a threat because of their power.
The remote Outer Rim planet therefore existed as a sort of safe haven for the witches, who built their fortress specifically to keep out the Jedi. In terms of the planet itself, episode 3 showed that Brendok was a stunning planet full of lush forests teeming with life and mountain regions. Reminiscent of Tatooine,the planet also has two moons, clearly symbolic of Mae and Osha themselves. Sadly, episode 3 also confirmed that 16 years before the events ofThe Acolyte, the Witches of Brendok were entirely wiped out on the planet in questionable circumstances.
So far, the show has yet to confirm whether it was truly Mae who killed the coven; however, this was Osha’s last time on the planet (for now). In all likelihood, the planet will be revisited either in flashback or in the present day, as the significance of the coven and the truth behind their deaths are still being revealed. Notably, episode 3 also confirmed that Jedi Masters Sol, Indara, Torbin, and Kelnacca were present on Brendok when the witches were killed.

3Olega
Olega Is The First New Planet Confirmed To Have A Jedi Temple
Olega is one of the most interesting new planets inThe Acolytebecause it is confirmed to have a local Jedi Temple on it. This is one of the first massive differences betweenThe Acolyteand the prequel trilogy in terms of the presence of the Jedi. In the prequel trilogy, it seems as though Coruscant is the sole home of the Jedi; however, Olega makes it clear that wasn’t the case.
In fact, it’s evident not only that other Jedi Temples existed but also that they all remained very connected. Despite Osha having been away from the Jedi for six years, when she hears that they are changing course and going to Olega, she says,“Torbin is on Olega.“Clearly, the Jedi had a network of temples that maintained connection enough for an ex-Jedi Padawan to know which Jedi Masters were stationed at which Temple even years later.
It’s unclear whether Olega will be revisited inThe Acolyte, but its inclusion has left a lasting impression either way. By the time of the prequel trilogy, the Jedi have abandoned not only their outposts on other planets but also, presumably, these other Temples; after all, no mention is made of Olega in the prequel trilogy. This turn away from the galaxy marks a stain on the Jedi’s history, as many perceived it to be a form of abandonment. Therefore, what comes of Olega will be particularly interesting.
2Khofar
Khofar Became The Location Of One Of Star Wars' Bloodiest Battles
The Acolyteepisode 5 finally revealed more about Khofar, the planet where Jedi Master Kelnacca, the Wookiee Jedi, was confirmed to be living. Previously, Qimir had described Khofar as"A relaxing forest retreat in the Outer Rim,“although the events that transpired in episode 5 were far from relaxing. In fact,on Khofar, Qimir revealed himself to be not a bumbling, quirky accomplice for Mae but rather the vicious and deadly masked villain called the Stranger, presumed to be a Sith Lord.
Sadly, it seems prior to this revelation, Qimir had already gotten to Kelnacca, as the Wookiee was slain before he got to have much of a role on the show. From there, Khofar became the location of multiple brutal Jedi murders. Not only were several unnamed Jedi cut down by Qimir as he exhibited his clear power and strength in the dark side, but also, beloved main characters Jecki Lon and Yord Fandar were cruelly killed off by Qimir right in front of Master Sol.
Khofar therefore became a pivotal location inThe Acolyte, although it’s unlikely to be revisited. In episode 6, Jedi Master Vernestra Rwoh went to Khofar with a team from the Jedi Order to collect information about what happened on the planet. At that point, she also gathered the bodies of the fallen Jedi to have them properly buried. Presumably, there is nothing left there, at least for now. Even without another visit to the planet, though,Khofar was truly a turning point inThe Acolyte.
1Unknown Planet
Qimir’s Mysterious Planet Will No Doubt Be Crucial
The Acolyteepisode 6 introduced a brand-new planet, although it remains almost entirely shrouded in mystery. Thus far, the planet has no name and has only been referenced as ‘Unknown Planet.’ Because of this vague description and the planet’s features, consisting of a green, rocky island of land, many initially believed the planet to be Ahch-To, Luke Skywalker’s hiding place in the sequel trilogy. However,The Acolyteshowrunner Leslye Headland has already confirmed the planet isn’t Ahch-To.
Nevertheless, Headland did say the similarities were intentional, meaning that this planet is likely essential to Qimir and has a larger significance for the Sith. After all, Ahch-To was the location of the very first Jedi Temple. Moreover, Headland did mention that this planet allows Qimir to acquire Cortosis, the metal of his helmet that can short out lightsabers.

Narratively, the planet has become fascinating, as it is where Qimir took Osha after he discovered her in the woods of Khofar. It’s abundantly clear that Qimir’s intentions are to turn Osha to the dark side and take her on as his pupil after Mae failed him. It seems this strategy may even be working, as, at the end of episode 6, Osha grabbed Qimir’s helmet and put it on her own head. Currently, the two are still on the planet, and it seems Osha may only be drawn further and further to the dark the longer they spend together.
The water of this planet also gave audiences the shock of the season, as Qimir stripped off his clothes and got into the water in full view of Osha. It seems this situation on the Unknown Planet could lead to some truly surprising places, andThe Acolytelikely hasn’t revealed the most major secrets yet. Notably, this was also the only new planet introduced in episode 6.
Of course,The Acolytehas moved at a rapid pace, so episode 7 could very well introduce one or more brand-new planets. Innovation has truly seemed to be the name of the game for theStar Warsshow, so it remains to be seen whereThe Acolyte’scharacters will head next and how many new planets will be introduced before season 1’s end. For now, though,Star Wars: The Acolytehas introduced some truly rivetingStar Warsplanets, and each has had its own tragedy pushing the narrative along.
