Some of the highlighted options include the Celestial Shield, which is forged to resemble a face peering out between two wreathes, and the Shield of the Noble Knight which features some impressively intricate patterns on the exterior. Looks aren’t enough to convince even the most diehard dual-wielder to pick up a shield but when they see the stats these chunks of metal are packing, they’ll change their mind.

One common factor that each of the shields posses isthe Rebuke of the Mighty ability, which allows players to deal 2-8 Force Damage on an enemy that strikes their equipment. They also all have Spell Guard, which grants usersAdvantage on Saving Throwsagainst spells and any spell attack made against the shield is rolled at Disadvantage.
Those may be the shared abilities, but each of the mod’s shields also come with individual skills to facilitate smart character building and role-playing. The stand out option is arguablyShield of the Holy Warrior which allows its bear to cast Celestial Haste and Reflective Shell while also boasting Divine Lightto ensure darkness is never a hinderance ever again. Shield of the Noble Knight deserves another shout out for its Alert ability which grants the user +5 to their Initiative and prevents suprise attacks.
The “Extra Shields” mod is just one ofmany fan-made creationsthat have been released forBaldur’s Gate 3since it launched into early access in 2020. While there are already thousands of add-ons available for PC,the most popular ones may soon find their way to consoles thanks to Larian Studios' official mod supportwhich isslated to drop in September.
