Summary
The recent launch ofThe CenterDLC forArk: Survival Ascendedreleased a plethora of new content, but one new creature to the franchise already has a major flaw.Ascendedis the upgraded version ofArk: Survival Evolved, but it has been plagued with many technical issues. Though it does have better graphics than its predecessor, problems with the release have hurt its overall outlook. Regardless, it looks to bridge the gap while the team continues the development of the much-anticipated sequelArk 2.
Ark: Survival Ascended’sThe Centerwas originally a modded map brought into the game for free as DLC. The map itself is a large mass of small land sections briefly connected to make one island. It also boasts enormous underground cave systems and oceans that only the most prepared will survive encounters with. Overall,The Centerposes a rewarding challenge for experienced players who can handle the variety of encounters the diverse environment will throw at them.

10 Coolest Ark: Survival Ascended Mod Creatures That Need To Come To The Base Game
Though Ark: Survival Ascended has a plethora of amazing dinosaurs, the community has created plenty of cool options that should be in the base game.
New Aquatic Shastasaurus Has A Major Flaw
The Strong But Immobile Sea Dweller
One new creature toThe Centeris the Shastasaurus, but this addition is made near pointless because of how difficult it is to keep alive. Shastasaurus is the larger relative to the Ichthyosaurus, but with this size comes the issue of safety. The large body hasmany blind spots it cannot protect with its slow attacks and low agility. This is further hurt by the fact every hostile aquatic creature will attack a Shasta if it enters its range.
So far, the only efficient method players have found to protect their new tames is with packs of other aquatic dinosaurs. The most popular option has been theMegalodon due to its great offensive strength and how plentiful they are to tame. Other suggestions that have been made to the developers are forenemies under a certain weight when compared to the Shasta to automatically ignore them. This would still require some protection for the larger aquatic creatures but would limit the amount of pointless encounters with smallerdangerous and terrifying fish dinosaurs.

What Makes The Shastasaurus So Popular
Introducing The Jurassic Submarine
The Shastasaurus is one of the creature vote winners, and its most appealing feature is its ability to be a prehistoric submarine. The large dino has an impressive carry weight, along with two powerful offensive abilities. One allows the Shasta tolaunch powerful torpedos from its body, and the other is anecholocation call that will stun enemies. Alone, Shastasaurus may be a tricky, albeit still powerful, creature to use, but using it as the centerpiece of an underwater fleet can make it a powerhouse.
Luckily, the taming process for the Shastasaurus is not overly complicated. When one is found, lure it to the top of the water until several leeches appear on its body.Remove these leeches, and the Shasta will thenallow the player to feed them. After it is fed, it will sink back into the ocean, and this process must then be repeated.

The fastest food to use is Extraordinary Kibble, but any kibble will work.
Overall, the Shastasaurus is an amazing addition toArk, but this major issue needs to be worked out. The creature itself does not require any major changes, as its powerful abilities are balanced out by fair weaknesses. This flaw stems from the number of predators it has more than the weaknesses it possesses. Thus, while the Shastasaurus is a powerful new tame inArk: Survival Ascended, this major flaw warrants proper preparation and consideration before heavily investing.
