All RuneScape Dragonwilds skills & unlocks

RuneScape Dragonwildsis Jagex’s new survival co-op game set in the same universe asRuneScape3 and Old School RuneScape. As such, it follows a similar skill and unlock structure to its massively multiplayer siblings.

Released April 15 on Steam, nine skills are currently available in Dragonwilds, all of which govern how your character interacts with the world. Jagex intends to introduce new skills as well as expand those already available with future updates.

As an Early Access title, the number of unlocks associated with each skill varies wildly, with some yet to receive any at all. However, there are still plenty of reasons to start grinding experience in the land of Ashenfall – you’ll want all of these abilities if you hope to survive against the Dragon Queen’s brood.

All skills & unlocks

Every skill and its associated unlocks can be found below. Note that Dragonwilds has both major and minor rewards for levelling its skills. For example, the Attack skill, which encompasses melee combat, awards a -1% Attack Stamina Cost for every level in which a new ability or upgrade isn’t earned.

Likewise, while the maximum cap of every skill is planned to be 99, all are currently capped at 40in Early Access. It’s not known if XP earned beyond level 40 will retroactively apply when the cap is raised or if you’ll be prevented entirely from earning XP upon reaching the temporary cap.

dragonwilds mining skill

Resources gained from levelling Mining are required to forge stronger weapons and armor, as well as used extensively in building, so it’s a wise idea to level as early as possible.

Woodcutting

Like mining, Woodcutting is a crucially important gathering skill that feeds into several others. Wood and timber can be processed into weapons and building components, with major unlocks largely making felling trees more efficient and rewarding.

Receive -1% Woodcutting stamina costs for every Woodcutting level not listed below.

Artisan provides a mixed bag of buffs perfect for augmenting the efficiency of your other skills. To level it, you’ll need to craft weapons, armour, and tools, in turn receiving spells like Magical Mending, which allow you to repair all of your gear with a single cast.

Receive -1% Durability loss on equipment for every Artisan level not listed below.

Construction

Construction is all about honing your prowess at building elaborate homesteads. Levelling the skill is simple – build new structures for XP – but is incredibly resource-intensive, as you’ll need materials acquired from multiple skills to build more elaborate structures.

You can’t have a survival game without providing the opportunity to explore culinary endeavours. Your avatar in Dragonwilds will regularly require a hearty meal to prevent starvation, and that’s exactly what you’ll be rustling up with Cooking.

Receive +1% Delicious Food Chance at the cooking range for every Cooking level not listed below.

Runecrafting

Runes are an integral resource in Dragonwilds. The palm-sized, spherical stones are necessary to cast various spells, and Runecrafting is where you’ll source them from. Each type of rune has an elemental or conceptual affinity, with different combinations needed depending on the spell.

Fire Runes are needed to build a kiln, which will help you get extremely useful items likeWild AnimaandAdhesive.
